Technical Information

Dimensions and weight, Folded dimensions
Weight: 2,6 kg or 870 g per person. Compact cover with compression straps: 11 litres. Cover dimensions: 40 cm * 17 cm * 16 cm. A second single cover is included in order to save weight if necessary.
Inner space
Room length: 215 cm. Room width: 180 cm at head end and 140 cm at feet. Bedroom height: 95 cm. The large apse (storage space between the room and the flysheet) of 100 cm deep and 190 cm wide so about 2m², is a great storage space (backpacks, shoes, ...). 3 pockets in the room.
Poles, pegs
Aluminium poles Ø 9.6 mm DAC Featherlite NSL lightweight and resistant to breakage and frost. Tent pegs: heavy duty and lightweight aluminium DAC corner sardines.
Setting up/taking down
Quick to pitch/take down. Pre-assembled flysheet and bedroom. Poles are attached to sleeves in tent, so you can save precious time when pitching. Dismantling is equally as rapid. To store the tent in the cover, simply attach the poles together in elastics (once folded), fold up the tent until it's roughly the width of the cover and then tightly roll up the tent and poles.
Quechua tents are validated in the laboratory (tent mounted under 200 litres/metre² per hour for 4 hours, the equivalent of a tropical rainfall), as well as in field test missions. 40 denier polyester (PE) flysheet, coated polyurethane (inside) & silicone (outside), 75D polyester ground sheet. Seams sealed with heat-sealed strips. Room in PE 40D breathable and water-repellent, partly made of mosquito net, to avoid contact with condensation drops.
Wind resistance
We test all our tents in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform where we can expose each side of the tent to the wind. To test its wind resistance, the tent must be properly pitched, taut but not stretched, with all the guy ropes in position around the tent. It should remain habitable at wind speeds of 70km/h, measured near ground level.
Ventilation and condensation prevention
Room partly covered with mosquito net for ventilation and partly covered with water-repellent fabric to protect against condensation and draughts. Large vent at front of tent's fly sheet and additional vent at feet end. To reduce condensation inside your tent, it must be properly assembled, with the fabric kept taut without over-stretching. The use of ventilation and good air circulation limits the humidity inside your tent.
Sun protection
The flysheet fabric filters UV rays with an UPF of 30. Please note: A large amount of UV rays can pass through an open door. Protect your skin.
Complete tent made out of 20% recycled material, reduces the environmental impact of the product. Flysheet made out of 50% recycled materials. The bedroom is made of a "mass dyed" component that reduces the amount of water used. The poles are colored thanks to an innovative anodising which eliminates the use of nitric and phosphoric acids.

Test Product
The waterproofing of Quechua tents is validated, tent mounted, under 200 litres of water/m²/H (tropical rain) during 4 hours excluding any passage of water through seams, flaps, openings, zips, etc.... The water column test (=mm schmerbers) only measures the waterproofing of the fabric. Wind resistance: tents are set up in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform to expose each side of the tent to the wind. We also carry out numerous field tests in real-life conditions.

Stock Advise
Storage: after use or cleaning, wait until the tent is perfectly dry before putting it away in order to avoid bad smells and mould.

Care Instruction
1 CLEANING - if necessary, use soapy water and rinse (water jet cleaning possible). Perfect drying necessary for storage. 2 RESIN STAIN -...very difficult to remove: once dry, scrape it off (delicately) by putting an ice cube on the inside to make it brittle and detach it more easily. 3 STORAGE - after use or cleaning, wait until the tent is perfectly dry before putting it away in order to avoid bad smells and mould.
