Most of the traffic restrictions and road closures are applied from the late afternoon and evening, which is after school and work hours. If you plan your travel before 16:00, you will be largely unaffected.

  • August 21, 24, and 27: The closures begin at 17:00, so your regular business hours activities will proceed as normal.
  • August 29 – 30: The closure period extends until 15:00 on August 30, so you should consider limiting travel on that morning.
  • September 1 – 2: This is the National Day holiday, and traffic will be high, so you should plan your travel early to avoid congestion.

Additionally, on August 23, 26, and 31, the city will not implement any closures, and you can travel and conduct your activities as usual.

During the specified time frames, the city will prohibit all vehicles from circulating on the listed routes, including cars, motorcycles, and rudimentary vehicles. Only vehicles with security badges and those serving the celebration will be allowed to enter this area. Most vehicles are restricted.

Vehicles from northern provinces to southern provinces

Vehicles can take the route: National Highway 2 → Vo Van Kiet → Thang Long Bridge → Elevated Ring Road III → Do Muoi intersection → Cau Gie – Ninh Binh Expressway.

Trucks over 10 tons

Trucks with a total designed weight of 10 tons or more are only allowed to travel on the Elevated Ring Road III and are restricted from exiting at the Pham Van Dong, Pham Hung, Khuat Duy Tien, and Nguyen Xien interchanges. All vehicles must strictly follow the instructions of the authorities.

  • Prioritize using coaches, public transport, and elevated trains (Line 2A Cat Linh – Ha Dong, Line 3 Nhon – Hanoi Station).
